Mount Kisco Arts Calendar Submission Guidelines

The Mount Kisco Arts Calendar is intended to promote arts and culture events taking place in Mount Kisco. Events are reviewed before publication to make sure they are appropriate for the calendar and aligned with its purpose.

Eligible Events

Events submitted to the calendar should:

  • Take place in Mount Kisco
  • Be open to the public
  • Be related to arts, culture, creativity, performance, literature, music, film, visual art, crafts, dance, theater, workshops, exhibitions, or similar cultural activity
  • Be hosted by a local arts organization, business, nonprofit, school, community group, artist, venue, or approved community partner
  • Provide clear event details, including date, time, location, organizer, description, and any cost to attend

Examples of appropriate events include:

  • Concerts and live music events
  • Art exhibits, gallery openings, and artist receptions
  • Theater, dance, film, and performance events
  • Author talks, readings, and literary events
  • Creative workshops and classes
  • Arts-related youth and family programs
  • Cultural festivals or community events with a clear arts or cultural component

Events That May Not Be Approved

MKAC may decline to publish events that:

  • Do not take place in Mount Kisco
  • Are not related to arts, culture, or creative community life
  • Are primarily commercial, promotional, or sales-focused without a meaningful arts or cultural component
  • Are private, invitation-only, or not open to the general public
  • Are political campaign events, partisan events, or candidate fundraisers
  • Are religious services or worship events, unless the event is primarily cultural, artistic, or community-facing
  • Include inappropriate, misleading, incomplete, or offensive content
  • Conflict with MKAC’s mission or community standards

Review and Approval

All submitted events are reviewed before publication. Submission does not guarantee approval, and MKAC reserves the right to edit event descriptions for clarity, length, formatting, and consistency.

Account approval also does not guarantee publication of every submitted event. Approved submitters are expected to follow these guidelines when adding events to the calendar.
